*** A new university production of HAIR is opening tonight in New York City. It's a five-day run of the show, and we understand it has a very unique approach. All the hippies (actors) have shaven their heads bald, including the women. Everyone is wearing white...and there is a White Gorilla Costume. Supposedly the music has been re-orchestrated. I am going to the show and will report back on what I think of it. I'll sort of review my own show. Fun!
*** In November, I will be casting in New York for a hippie-hair workshop which I will direct, and we will examine and stage all the book scenes of the revised script first. We may continue into the musical parts of the show, but it remains to be seen what happens in the initial workshop. Looking for singing actors who move and dance well. Want strong actors. All roles open at the moment. More specifics to be announced here and in the trade papers.
*** My new show BILLY EARTH is ready to go, or in Rainbow-Talk, "Roody to goo!" Looking for that magic producer! Somone wonderful has it now and the reports are promising. B.E. is a sequel to HAIR, taking up where HAIR leaves off, continuing the travels of some of characters, up into the rainbow and down to Washington, D.C. It's nice to have this medium to be able to keep everyone posted on the progress.
*** HAIR is being leased to a theatre in Hungary...dates: July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2007...Vorosmarty Theatre, Szekesfehervar, Hungary.
